The Yuma area has a wide range of fishing opportunities from our stocked ponds like the Fortuna and Yuma West Wetlands Park Ponds to Bass Fishing at Mittry Lake. To take advantage of American Bass tournaments coming up in 2021, send your information to American Bass Association Membership, 402 N. Prospect Ave., Redondo Beach, CA 90277 or call 310-376-1026. This club is open to all local high school students for good competitive bass fishing at local, state and national levels. If there are guys and gals who would like to get in on this fun fishing experience, visit StudentAnglerFederation.com or call Terry Hurt, school sponsor, at 928-580-7678. All boats, rods and reels and other fishing equipment are available to students with experienced mentors and coaches belonging to Desert Bass Anglers and the Yuma Valley Rod and Gun Club.



Sign-up $5 each Wednesday by 8 a.m. at Fisher’s boat dock with the biggest fish weighed in (any species) taking the pot. Anglers can also sign-up $10 anytime each month to fish the Swede Ferguson Memorial Monthly Bass Derby with weigh-in also at Fisher’s boat dock with the winner determined the last day each month. Interested anglers, including beginners, have the opportunity to learn how, when and where to catch bass at Yuma area waters with Yuma’s fishing guide Dave Willhide. A bass boat with all equipment is provided. Call Dave at 928-726-2621. Ask about his bass fishing seminars for RV parks and home groups.
